Wendy, you are blessed! What a trip around the world of sewing, art and graphics you have been through. Your female ancestry has synthesized within you for sure. I just spent more time than I had visiting your website, reading your blog, seeing your videos back and forth more than twice. I wanted to comment on your blog but I was not sure you would notice my message sooner than through here. I am not sure how the blog comments work. I am an old woman who was born in Mexico and now lives in the USA. My female models were like yours. I am a craftaholic who loves and has learnd all sorts of handicrafs. I am a retired teacher who is now trying to finally have a little studio of her own (more like a craft cottage). About 20 years ago I made a quilted panel of a southwestern sunset with cactus on the foreground and the shadows of Jesus surrounded by children. (Era pa\'la iglesia Ha!) It was gorgeous. Everyone loved it. My cactus were more like barrel cactus with magenta flowers. Your Tunas works reminded me of them A LOT!! I tried to make some de pencas como los tuyos, but I did not like their shape in the design, so I just stayed with the barrel type which are more popular in the US Southwest. I am love anything to do with sewing. I am a crazyquilter, silk ribbon embroiderer and I adore doing stumpwork which is like miniature fabric sculpting. I don't have the energy or strength to undertake big things now. Thank you so much for sharing. I envy your opportunity to get to touch all those gorgeous fabrics. Much success to you. Que ganes mucho dinero con tu arte. Your talent needs the freedom to be create more obras de arte.
